HOOLIGANS who pretend to be promoters of climate change must be wiped out if the public is to get right information on agenda. Prof Peter Basalirwa from Makerere University said at the closing of the climate change conference for the media in Kampala over the weekend, that programmes on climate change have of late become a quick money making industry.

Uganda’s priority at the Copenhagen summit will be adaptation. There are only two weeks to the international climate change talks in Copenhagen. Although Africa is supposed to come up with a single voice, to seal the deal that will bring unity against global warming, it is imperative that each country has its priority area; in Uganda’s case adaptation will be the frontline choice.

The Environmental Crime Project was launched yesterday in Uganda. It is a project for Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Seychelles, Ethiopia, Sudan, Rwanda and Burundi. It protect our environment aganist all forms of environmental crimes.
